WOUND  PATHOGEN PANEL

Genics Laboratories Wound Testing utilizes RT-PCR, the highest standard of testing in the industry to obtain results. We can rapidly detect and differentiate 99% of common aerobic, anaerobic, and microaerophilic bacteria, viral and fungal targets, and polymicrobial infections. Using our PCR platform, we can more definitively diagnose over point of care or culture methods.

Genics Laboratories testing report will provide the physician with the Resistance Markers for the specific antibiotic required to treat the microbial infection, thus allowing the provider to prescribe the lowest effective dosage (in μg/mL) that inhibits the growth of the pathogen. This not only reduces the amount of drugs in a patient’s system, but also provides a guide for a dosage that is high enough for efficacy, while still minimizing the risk of the pathogen developing resistance to antibiotics through undertreatment. Sensitivity and specificity greater than 98%
