What’s Tested

Our Anemia Blood Panel helps determine the type and cause of anemia, a condition that can lead to fatigue, dizziness, irregular heartbeat, and other symptoms. This test evaluates blood health, detects deficiencies, and assesses conditions affecting oxygen transport.

Is this right for you?

If you have a family history of anemia, a diet low in iron and essential minerals, chronic infections, significant blood loss, heavy menstrual periods, pregnancy, breastfeeding, gastrointestinal disorders, or a history of bariatric surgery, this test can help. Anemia can worsen over time and lead to serious health issues, making early detection essential for proper treatment.

What’s being tested:

CBC with Differential and Platelets: Assesses red and white blood cells, hemoglobin, hematocrit, and platelets to evaluate overall blood health and detect anemia or other blood disorders.

Iron, TIBC, and Ferritin Panel: Iron– measures the amount of iron in your blood, essential for oxygen transport. Low levels may indicate anemia due to diet, blood loss, pregnancy, or certain medical conditions. Total Iron Binding Capacity (TIBC) – evaluates how well iron binds to transferrin for transport in the body. High levels may indicate iron deficiency. Ferritin – Measures stored iron levels in the blood, helping determine if iron stores are depleted.

Vitamin B12: Essential for red blood cell production and neurological function. Deficiencies can lead to anemia and nerve-related symptoms.

Folate (Folic Acid): A vital nutrient for RBC formation and DNA synthesis. Low levels can contribute to anemia.

BUN/Creatinine Ratio: Assesses kidney function, which can affect red blood cell production and overall blood health.

Reticulocyte Count: Measures the number of young red blood cells, helping evaluate bone marrow activity and RBC production.

Physician Review included
